Brenda Joyce’s THE MASQUERADE In Stores Now!

0778322092The Queen of Historical Romance is now back with a stunningly luscious sequel to the de Warrene Dynasty. So all you hopeless romantics, go to your nearest bookstores and ask for it now!

Here’s the synopsis: (Jeez. I can’t sleep. I’m so excited!)

As a child, shy, bookish Elizabeth Anne Fitzgerald loses her heart to the dashing young lord, Tyrell de Warenne. Although she is well aware that he is the heir to an earldom and utterly unattainable, Lizzie secretly worships him for years. And one fateful evening — the night of her first masquerade
ball — she is stunned when he suggests that they rendezvous at
midnight. But then fortune takes a maddening turn and Lizzie is
thwarted from ever meeting Tyrell. Lizzie is certain such an
opportunity will never arise again, but that night is only the beginning…

Tyrell de
Warenne is shocked when, two years later, Lizzie arrives on his
doorstep with a child that she claims is his. He remembers her well —
and knows that it is impossible that he is the boy’s father. What is this game she is playing…and why? Is Elizabeth Anne Fitzgerald a woman of vast experience, or the gentle innocent he had believed her to be? Tyrell quickly decides he will play her game and he claims the
child as his own — determined to uncover Lizzie’s lies. But neither
scandal, deception nor pride can thwart a love too grand and passionate
to ever be denied…

Cat care: Preventative Care

Preventative health care is helping our pets live longer and more
enjoyable lives. Examples of preventative health care include regular
vaccinations, dental care, de-worming and heartworm prevention and
testing. As your cat ages, it also includes periodic blood screening,
x-rays and dietary counseling. Speak to your veterinarian about a
preventative health care plan for your pet.

Giizmodo: iPod nano in Any Color You Want

ColorwarenanoI’m sure you’re all sick of iPod nano this and iPod nano that by now,
but we figured this looked cool enough that it merited us talking about
it. Colorware, as you all may remember, is that company that custom
colors all your favorite Apple products, along with other things like
game consoles. Well now they’re going for the iPod nano too. Want your
nano in Ferrari red? No problem. Cotton Candy pink? Sure. A mixture of
both? They’ll do it. Buying a new nano from ‘em will cost you $265 for
the 2GB and $315 for the 4GB, and sending your own nano for color work
will most likely be around $65. Kinda pricey, but it’ll definitely
stand out from the crowd.

Gizmodo: Toshiba Brings The HD DVD-R Pain

ToshhddvdHitting us early with heavy HD DVD news, Toshiba is promising a
30-gigabyte dual-layer HD DVD recordable disc, which will double the
storage of the single layer disc of the same sort it came up with
earlier this year. And to make this an actual piece of news, Toshiba
has also promised an HD DVD player to play the disc on by spring 2006.
Gotta be honest, this has all been hyped up so much, I don’t really
know what to believe (the player was supposed to be out by the end of
this year), but it looks good on paper.

Gizmodo: Sony’s 10.3 Megapix Cyber-shot

Cybershot

This digital not-quite-SLR packs a whopping 10.3 megapixels, has a 35mm-equivalence ZEISS zoom (24mm-120mm) lens. And what’s the sticker price on this beauty? Just $1,000. Integrated live previews while shooting make it less likely that you will miss the moment (or whine about slow refresh rates). And the 2-inch LCD screen is foldable, which means this SLR can boldly reach angles where no SLR has gone before. Shutter lag is .0075 seconds—darn impressive. At least until you add it up over the course of a lifetime a realize that you lose like a whole minute of your existence to shutter lag time. Damn you, Sony!

Gizmodo: These Boots Were Made For Walkman

Walkmantop

Apple’s got a new iPod? That is like so yesterday’s
news. Today it’s all about Sony, a company that will not stand idly by while
Apple turns its famous Walkman brand into a nostalgia piece. Well, actually, that
is pretty much what they’ve been doing until now (although Sony’s audio
equipment business has become profitable again thanks the sales of the
flash-based Walkman). The new boss of Sony, Sir Howard Stringer, officially
takes control at the end of the month and is expected to begin announcing his
new management team sometime next week. This is perhaps the first sign that
Stringer is in it to win it. There are five new players in all, two hard-drive
models and three flashers. Unlike Apple, who announces new products and then
has them for sale in stores a few days later, these portables won’t go on sale
until November 19—in

Japan

.
And when will they reach the

U.S.

?
Be patient, friends, until sometime this holiday. More details on each players
in the posts that follow.
